ABOUT
Aeroflot Russian Airlines-SU, known as Aeroflot, is Russia’s largest airline and one of the oldest airlines in the world. Its main headquarters are at Moscow International Airport, Sheremetyevo.
Aeroflot is a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance and has a fleet of about 150 aircraft. In 2012 over 17 million passengers flew on Aeroflot aircraft.
Aeroflot’s history
The airline was founded in February 1923 and began operations in July of the same year. The Russian government owns 51% of the company (December 2013) and the rest is dispersed.
It has been a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance since April 2006.
